This vermouth isawine made from Danish apples fortified with our gin Distilled Mother Nature. It is flavoured with a range of aromatic herbs such as wormwood, yarrow, blackberry leaves, St. John's wort, nutmeg and other elegant tasting botanicals. The vermouth has been barrel-aged in Burgundy barrels (previously for pinot noir red wine) for two years.
The result is a complex and intriguing drink which balances sweetness, bitterness and dryness. Enjoy it neat as an apéritif or as a component in a new take on a classic cocktail like a negroni.
This vermouth is created in Njord Ligalab (Liquid Gastronomy Laboratory). The lab explores the realm of flavour beyond - but closely related to - gin together with external partners such as university researchers, bartenders and chefs. 3 cl Distilled Sun And Citrus
3 cl Ligalab Barrel-Aged Vermouth
3 cl Campari1.
1. Pour the gin, vermouth and Campari into a mixing glass with ice and stir for 30 seconds.
2. Use a strainer when pouring the cocktail into a lowball glass filled with ice.
3. Garnish the cocktail with an orange peel, squeezed over the top and dropped into the glass.
The cocktail called Golden Nugget is created by Mari-Liis Lvov . The inspiration behind the Golden Nugget came from the cumin aroma in our gin, which reminded her of Indian cuisine and a warm Turkish drink made with milk, turmeric and honey.
The Njord Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail with a little twist. Usually made with whiskey, we instead used our Distilled Barrel-Aged gin. The perfect drink for people who enjoy their cocktails strong and sharp.
