With this cocktail set, you can easily create this year's Festuge cocktail, "Sydhavnsfrugt i Flammer" at home. The cocktail is named after the Aarhus South Harbour, where Njord's distillery is located.
The cocktail is based on this year's Aarhus Festuge gin from Njord, which the distillery developed in collaboration with Aarhus personality Chili Klaus, who is also based in the Aarhus harbour area. The cocktail combines the gin's complex flavor profile with an intense Habanero chili/lime syrup from the young Aarhus-based company Ziropa, and orange soda from the local quality producer Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri. The cocktail is garnished with a slice of lemon and one of Chili Klaus' selected De Arbol chilies.
Together, these intense elements create a refreshing cocktail with just the right amount of edge and complexity to make it truly interesting. The gin's chili flavor composition, ranging from fresh melon and cucumber to smoky, herbal, and even chocolatey notes, is complemented and contrasted by the refreshing sourness of orange and lime, along with a hint of warmth from the non-distilled Habanero chili. The cocktail's many flavor nuances are further enhanced by the aromatic garnish.
The result is a fresh, fruity, and summery cocktail that manages to tease both the nose and the mouth with a piquant sensuality.
