Distilled and Barrel-Aged

Special editions of our gins have been aged in various barrels for at least one year. Barrels previously used for ageing whisky, Burgundy wines and Sauternes to name a few. Different combinations of distinct gins, ageing times and barrels result in unique new taste experiences. Some of our barrel-aged gins have smokey notes and others have fruity dimensions. These gins are perfect served neat like whisky or cognac, or used in cocktail classics like negroni and old fashioned.

Description of the latest edition:

In this edition, the intense gin Distilled Mother Nature has spent 5 years maturing in a smoked whisky oak cask in the distillery's cellar. Mother Nature is characterized by a deep flavor and high viscosity from the potato distillate, which blends with fresh, sweet, and pleasantly bitter notes from juniper, woodruff, rowanberries, angelica, and sea buckthorn. In this cask-aged version, additional richness and a vanilla/caramel sweetness are imparted by the many years of aging and the cask’s previous contents of fine smoked whisky.

For most, this gin has evolved from the distinctive Mother Nature profile into a pronounced smoked whisky experience with a hint of fresh juniper notes from the gin. A complex and charming union of heavy metal and ballet that will both satisfy and challenge gin and whisky enthusiasts alike. Enjoy it neat or use it in classic cocktails and smoky, sweet G&Ts.

MOTHER NATURE, MUSHROOMS, AND FLOWERS.
This edition is a blend of gins aged in various casks. The blend includes Distilled Happy Minds, Distilled Mother Nature, and a special gin created exclusively for this cask-aged blend. (The special gin is distilled with a generous amount of lavender, lemon verbena, and lemon basil, giving it a distinctly floral character.)

To balance the floral notes and the dryness of the gin, we added an oyster mushroom distillate, which had been aged in a new smaller cask for two years. This adds depth and a rounded finish to the final product.
